Automated welding of extruded profiles and sheets of aluminium alloys for car bodies

摘要

After developing and implementing a new aluminium light weight concept for car bodys for the first time at a luxury sedan, the next step is the introduction of automated joining technology for thin-walled aluminium components in large-batch production of smaller cars. Therefore the work presented focusses on the influence of the manufacturing sequence and parameters of automated welding processes on the fatigue resistance and the damage behaviour of typical car body weld joints under cyclic loading.
