摘要

A modular approach to the design and manufacture of composite substructure for airframes is described. This approach offers flexibility, for ease of integration into aircraft structural designs, and also provides a viable means of reacting to design changes during the evolution of an air vehicle program. A resin infusion process is integrated with flexible tooling and preform fabrication approaches to enable the manufacture of affordable integrally-stiffened composite airframe structures. Data are presented that show autoclave quality composite structure can be fabricated to meet aerospace application requirements.
