Applications of Homogeneous Ion Exchange Membranes Made in China in Several Industrial fields

China has made homogeneous ion exchange membranes on a large scale by paste method in 1990s. These cation and anion exchange membranes have excellent electrochemical properties and good mechanical strength. They are now used in electrodeionization process, in separation and purification of glycine from its reaction mixture by electeodialysis, in preparation of iminodiacetic acid and glycine from their salts by electrodialysis, in preparation and purification of citric acid and tartaric acid from starch fermentation broth by electrodialysis, in treatment of pulp-making black liquor, in electrometallurgical process, and in fuel cell as diaphragm.
