The Expression of Common Concurrency Patterns in Join Java

摘要

Join Java is a superset of the Java language with concurrency constructs inspired by the Join calculus. Join Java does not use a library of concurrency classes but has all the expression of concurrency integrated into the syntax of the language. Join Java supports inter-thread messaging by passing parameters in Join patterns. The expression of concurrency and synchronization in Join Java eliminates the need to use wait/notify but at the same time is compatible with the older syntax and semantics. The Join Java compiler generates code that is compatible with all Java class libraries and can be combined arbitrarily with standard Java classes. In this paper we will examine applications of the Join Java language to standard concurrency patterns.
