In this paper, we propose to use the Cold sequences as the spreading sequences that has a family of M = N + 2 sequences with sequence length of N. They are constructed from any preferred pair of m-sequences and we will choose a subset of sequences from the family of Gold sequences such that Multiple Access Interference (MAI) is minimized. Furthermore, a search method based on Genetic Algorithms (GA) is proposed to find the optimal solution owing to its powerful search ability. Experimental results showed that MAI could be greatly reduced after a proper sequence selection.
