A microprocessor based controller for a three phase ac power converter, operating on a variable frequency supply is discussed. This scheme is developed using 8085 microprocessor with minimum hardware. The firing angle of the power controller is maintained constant irrespective of the supply frequency. Any change in the firing angle is implemented within one sixth of a cycle, making the response of the system faster. The paper describes the complete hardware and software for the above.
