摘要

Low velocity dense phase conveying of polymer granules causes dramatically less product damage and fines/streamer generation than conventional dilute phase. This is of enormous benefit to both the producer and processor of polymers. Theoretical and practical considerations necessary to achieve industrially sound solutions are discussed. NEU's computer modelling method and special apparatus for the measurement of pipe wall friction are presented. The practical aspects of conveying piping layout, including the use of vertical and inclined pipes are considered. The importance of gasflow control to stable operation is explained and methods for achieving this are described.
