Passive films on stainless steels are generally described as bilayered films, the external (resp. internal) layer being composed of more or less hydrated iron (resp. chromium) rich oxides. However, the consequences of this structure on EIS spectra and Mott-Schottky (MS) plot analyses still remain to be dealt with.
