Interactions in the corrosion behavior between cold sprayed layers for spot repair and substrate - effect of powder composition

The aim of remanufacturing is to reutilize already used machine components with attrition damages for a further lifecycle to reduce production costs. Therefor cold spray technology is an upcoming method to rebuild original contours of various machine components after a certain time of operation. The choice of cold spray technique offers a significant lower heat input into the substrate material compared to materials deposition by welding processes. Such procedures are usually accompanied by negative effects like affecting the substrate properties and internal stresses caused by the heat input.
