The present paper is provided as a hand-out document for a six to eight hour long presentation about new developments in the industrial laser field. The purpose of the presentation is to review the current technological trends within the industrial laser market and identify the current leading technologies as well the emerging technologies which will be dominant for the next 5 years. A brief description of the Market status will be given to start with. The goal here is to illustrate the economic background which supports the content of the more technical presentation which will follow and constitute the core of this seminar. The intention is to cover, on a rather extensive way, as many technical aspects as possible within the industrial laser field. The presentation will include information about laser sources, laser systems and applications. The emphasis will be put on: the technologies which are currently considered as the best performers from an economic and/or technical standpoint. recent advances in various areas of the Industrial business with proven or potential chances of success in substituting or complementing current technologies.
