In this paper, a two-equation turbulence model (k- epsilon ) is employed to investigated the turbulent flow field in a stirred vessel agitated by dual propeller-style impeller. The simulation results show that the flow in front of baffles is different from the flow behind baffles in low impeller clearnace case. In front of baffles, only one circulation loop has formed, and the flow pattern is approximately the same. Behind baffles, a small second recirculation loop has formed in the upper part of the vessel, and is directed downwards rather than upwards. With increasing impeller clearnace, fluid flow were more axial oriented between two impellers, only one primary recirculation loop was observed between baffles.
