Vibrations and dynamic and static axial buckling loads of uniform L shaped thin and thick beams with axial loads, have been analysed. L shaped new material beam structural frames with heavy tip point masses and rotatory inertias, and shear deformations, and several known thick beam finite elements have been incorporated into the analysis considering three dimensional motion of beams. The numerical values obtained for inplane, and out of plane bending, coupled bending-longitudinal and bending torsional frequencies, have been compared with the available exact analytical and experimental values. It has been shown that, two separate displacements assumptions for bending and shear deformation, give better approximations than the other approaches, in some of practical L shaped frame thick beam application cases. The effects of axial loads on the shear deformation frequencies have been, also analysed in the work as an additional new research aspect on the subject.
