Boston's North Station transportation improvement project

Boston's North Station area is a key gateway to the city. In recent years the area has slipped into decline, but a series of public and private initiatives are revitalizing this portion of the city. This paper will discuss the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's North Station Transportation Improvement Project. This project will improve the connections between commuter rail and transit and relocate a light rail line from an elevated structure to a subway. In addition, public/private partnerships have been formed to integrate the North Station Transportation Center with planned private developments.
