摘要

In this paper we discuss on going research at Siemens on vision systems for the perception of the inner space of the car. We present four vision systems currently explored for safety applications. Three of them are dedicated to occupant position sensing. They provide 3D information of the passenger seat occupancy using three different techniques: passive stereovision, active triangulation and time of flight measurement. The fourth one is a 2D-vision system, which contribute to driver vigilance monitoring by providing the eyelid pattern of the driver. Advantages and drawbacks of each system are discussed.
