BAU108 was bred in 1991. From 1994-1996, it was joined to regional yield trials in Beijing, Northeast China, North China, Northwest Chian and then in Southwest China. It got the growing licenses from Variety Evaluation Agency ( VEA ) in Hebei Province, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi Province, and national VEA. Its patent number is CN1161136A. It was awarded the Golden Medal in Third National Agricultural Fair in Oct. 1997 and the Golden Medal in 99' International Agricultural Fair in 1999. In Aug. 2000, it was awarded the First Prize in Advance of Science and Technology of Beijing and First Prize in Extending Project of China Agricultural Ministry.
