Rapid industrialization of countries throughout Asia Pacific has meant significant growth opportunities for the use of composites or fibre reinforced plastics (FRP). Industries such as pulp and paper, mining, chlor-alkali, fertilizer, sewage/water treatment, offshore and air pollution control, all require ocnstruction materials that can withstand aggressive chemical environments, often at high temperatures and presures. FRP has proven to be a favored, cost-effective solution to corrosion problems. However to ensure optimum performance and lifetime of the equipment, careful attentio nmust be paid to selecting the appropriate resin and correct fabrication.
