A TE{sub}(01δ) 9.00 GHz sapphire resonator was constructed with sapphire and rutile supports designed to act as a Bragg Distributed Resonator (patent pending) to reduce cavity losses. The amount of rutile was chosen using FEM to annul the temperature coefficient of frequency. Here we confirm the resonator to have an annulment temperature of -7.8°C and Q-factor of 65,000 limited by the dielectric loss tangent.
