An extensive quantitative analysis of the dislocations in the β-phase of a multiphase (β/γ') Ni-32 at.%Al-5 at.%Fe intermetallic alloy has been performed. The types of dislocations formed during annealing due to phase transformations and as a result of applied stress (tensile deformation) have been studied. A tendency to form <111> dislocations at lower temperature and <100> and <110> dislocations at higher temperature has been observed during annealing. Similar effects of the temperature on the type of dislocations formed during tensile deformation have been established.
