This paper describes the integration of the new compressed air energy storage (CAESCT) concept (based on the power augmentation of a combustion turbine (CT) or combined cycle (CC) power plants by injection of stored, compressed air into a gas turbine) and renewable energy resources, particularly wind power, so as to maximize the economic benefit of renewable resources/wind energy while increasing the capacity and flexibility of the power generation system.
