In cold spray process, only particles which reach the velocity higher than the critical velocity can make particles plastically deform enough to deposit on the substrate [1]. Therefore particle velocity is recognized as a key factor that influences the deposition efficiency and also coating properties. Many attempts to increase particle velocity have been carried out by changing spray conditions such as nozzle geometry, gas pressure and gas temperature [2, 3]. In the present paper, it was investigated how gas pressure, gas temperature and gas species affect particle velocity in cold spray.
