Biological control is the use of natural enemies to control pests. Conservation biological control focuses on conserving the natural enemies that are already present in the field. Classical biological control is the intentional introduction of natural enemies to control an accidentally introduced pest (40% of insect pests in US fall into this category). Lastly, augmentative biological control involves releasing mass produced natural enemies to control a pest.
