We have measured the dynamic behavior of a two-stage L-B and EDFA. The response time constants are about 105 μs and 260 μs when one and seven out of eight channels were dropped accordingly and the amplifier was well saturated. These values were about four and five times larger than what waere observed in a C-Band EDFA. The difference can be explained by the different intrinsic saturation power in these two bands.
