Hybrid thin film WDM and optical switch devices for optical add/drop

Hybrid thin film optical filters and optical switches offer a number of performance advantages for OADM applications. They have reduced insertion loss, size and complexity as compared to discrete components. They have extremely low spectral ripple for through, non-dropped channels. Concatenations of optical filters maintain their spectral flatness for multiple node systems.
