Homodyne optical crosstalk is a major factor limiting the system performance of large WDM networks [1] imposing strict space switch crosstalk requirements. This in turn places serious constraints on the size of achievable optical space switches which require low crosstalk isolation in meshed optical networks [2,3]. Homodyne crosstalk is categorized according to whether the crosstalk interferer is a time-delayed replica of a received signal from the same laser (SL) or from a different laser (DL) at the same nominal wavelength [4].
