In conclusion, we have identified a class of advantageous two-step dispersion maps (with arbitrary location of the amplifier within the map) that simultaneously minimizes dispersive radiation in many channels for WDM in the case of moderate maps. The specific choice of amplifier placement can lead to a family of two-step maps in which proper placement of the dispersion compensator and launch point improves the magnitude of the radiative shelf. These designs may be useful in optimizing new systems with moderate dispersion management.
