Phenolic wastes are classified as hazardous pollutants, because the release of phenolic compounds resulted in the serious contamination of water and soil and became a threat to human health. This study focused on the treatment of model wastewater of pentachlorophenol (PCP) using horseradish peroxidase (HRP). HRP catalyzes the oxidation of PCP by hydrogen peroxide, and insoluble polymers are generaled. The characteristics of the treatment, such as pH, stoichiometry, reaction rate and enzyme dose were investigated.
