In conclusion, we propose and analyze a method for generating correlated photon pairs via four-wave mixing parametric processes inside a single-mode optical fiber. We have treated the four-wave-mixing process in both the classical and quantum mechanical regimes and found that they are in close parallel with the conventional three-wave-mixing process. We describe an experimental scheme that is currently under implementation and present numerical results using realistic physical parameters.
