Since organic compounds are usually the second most aboundant ocmponent of sub-um atmospheric aerosol after sulfates and nitrates,there is great interest in determinign their ocntribution to the various climatic,visibility and public health issues,as well as their effects on and involvement iwht the gas-phase chemicstry of the atmophere.
