The effect of resin system and glass fiber sizing chemistry on the alkali resistance of pultruded bars has been evaluated. Fiber glass reinforcements with four different sizing chemistries were pultruded into bars using three polyester and two vinylester resin systems. Stressed and unstressed bars were placed in a strong alkali solution simulating long-term exposure to concrete.Flexural strength was measured after ninety-day and one-year exposures.
