Thermoset plastic companies manufacture a variety of products that utilize a complex array of ingredients and process environments. In a typical thermoset plastic there could be well over ten ingredients including resins, inorganic fillers, fiberglass, inhibitors, initiators, low profile additives, flame retardants, pigments, and other special additives. To help monitor and control the manufacture of thermoset plastics we have developed Near IR methods and protocols which are at least ten times more precise than the wet chemical methods.
