USING ENVIROBOND~(TM) TO PREVENT ACID ROCK DRAINAGE

The patents pending Envirobond~(TM) acid rock drainage treatment is a new generation approach to controlling acid and metal discharge from mine sites. Envirobond~(TM) can either use the available ferrous iron already in th oxidation system or it can liberate enough ferrous iron from pyrite to create a permanent, insoluble compound Fe(EB) that coats the pyrite and any other surface that it comes into contact with. The result is that when Envirobond~(TM) is applied to acid generating rock, the treated rock maintains a pH between 6.80 to 7.20 and ferrous ion formation is stopped thus interrupting the pyrite oxidation cycle at its inception.
