摘要

We report a strong electroabsorptive effect in photorefractive composite of 1-n-butoxyl-2,5-dimethy1-4(4' -bitrophenylazo)benzene: poly (N-vinylcarbazole):2,4,7 -trinitro-9-fluorenone with weight ratio 44:55:1.An electroabsorption coefficient of 27 cm~-1 was measured at an applied field of 92.4 V/#um#m.The electroabsorptie effect depended strongly on hte incident angle with respect to the directin of the applied field,which caused so-called orientationally enhanced electroabsorption grating in the composite.The electroasorption grating was measured to be about 6 cm~-1,1/3 of which came from the variation of the value of the total electric field,and 2/3 caused by the variation of the direction of the total eelctric field.
