The Emergence of the VAST in China

Introduced by Paul Baran in the early 1970's the very small aperture terminal (VSAT) has become one of the most important communication tools used today. The concept behind this marvelous invention is to create a small-size satellite station and combine it with low-cost electronic equipment to maintain very precise frequency, phase, and time synchronization with a satellite, which is located 22,300 miles above the equator.
