A new spread spectrum system, named as frequency diversity spread spectrum multiple access system( FD/SSMA ) is proposed, which is based on the theory of parallel ata transmission and the time/frequency duality with the direct sequence spread spectrum multiple system ( DS/SSMA ). It is verified that the FD/SSMA system owns low spectral density, capability of multiple access, and the convenience of an FFT-based implementation. The performance of the FD/SSMA system in the AWGN channel is analysed.
