摘要

We identify different types of power system stability and find that transient stability is the one which imposes the most stringent requirements. On the other hand, we identify the three classes of approaches to transient stability assessment and examine whether and which ones are able to meet such requirements. It is found that this may be achieved by appropriate combinations, lying at the crossroads of numerical, direct, and automatic learnign methods. It is also found that many of the combinations advocated for the purpose of transient stability are readily adaptable to other stability problems. Finally, a general approach is anticipated where all types of stability would be handled in a unified way.
