Mining characteristics and equipment selection in jinchen coal mining bureau

There are three minable seams in Jinchen Coal Mining Bureau, Shanxi Province, China. According to the natural location of the coal seams, three basic mining methods, namely, thick seam slicing, longwall caving, and thin seam fully mechanized mining, are employed. Three types of general face layout are formed, achieving a daily production of 7000 tonnes and annual production of 2 Mt, daily production of 3000 tonnes and annual production 1 Mt. The paper points out the basic demand on equipment selection for realizing the production target, and some problems in the optimum desing of the equipment that should be considered.
