A new analytic method for the electromagnetic (EM) field in stratified media-the Counter-Propagation Deduction (CPD) Method has been suggested by the authors, which, by introducing a new conception-the Boundary Originated Set (BOS0 of waves, is characterized by constructing or deducing the solutions directly, and can provide the direct mathematic expressions of the fields in an arbitrary layer convenient for a numerical evaluation by computer programming. This paper discusses its application in the analysis of the EM field excited by horizontal electric dipoles.
