The application of electric and magneticfields to processing of materials, so called"Electromagnetic Processing of Materials (EPM)", hasbeen recognized as cutting-edge technology, especiallyin the fields of steelmaking and advanced materialsprocessing. The present state of EPM is given througha brief introduction of several examples of theapplications of a high frequency magnetic field, a DCmagnetic field, DC magnetic and electric fields and atraveling magnetic field. A new trend of EPM in theapplication of "Magnetization force" and theutilization of "Magnetoacoustic wave" is discussed anda view of the future of EPM is revealed.
