Intensified Scrap Melting in EAF by Bath Agitation, Post-Combustion and Coal Injection Technology; K-ES

Based on the K-OBM or KMS converter processes the K-ES System (Kombinitertes Elektrostahlerzeugungssystem) for the EAF steelmaking is developed. In this paper the technical concept/components of the K-ES system and results related to the metallurgical and operational performance of the Steel plant at LUCCHINI SAREZZO, Italy for example are outlined, which is successfully started up in 1996.
