Production of artemisinin by hairy root cultures in fluidized bed bireactor

A fluidized bed bioreactor was used for in vitro culture of Artermisia annua L hairy roots to produce artemisinin. The growth feature of hairy root in bioreactor was observed. The biomass dry weight and artemisinin yield were 18.16g/L and 294.9mg/L respectively under the optimum conditions after 25 days of culture.
