A new in-plane-switching(IPS) mode with super wide viewing angle characteristics has been developed. The color-shift dependence on viewing angle is effectively suppressed by specific pixel structure. Furthermore, a new driving method which can realize cross-talk free image and also low voltage operation has been developed. The new driving method has been successfully applied to 15.2-inch diagonal wide full-color IPS mode TFT-LCD with H1364 × V768 pixels.
