Radiometric images of anti-tank and anti-personnel mines have been taken at several detection ranges in a variety of conditions. This paper gives brief descriptions of the equipment used and the radiometric detection mechanism involved. Samples of the images and the results obtained are presented. It is qualitatively concluded that, with a radiometric sensor, surface mines are clearly visible and there is a significant degree of visibility for buried or covered mines. The images were provided by the MITRE radiometric imaging equipment which operates at 94 or 140 GHz, and the MELCHIOR 94 GHz experimental radiometer.
