摘要

A virtual source emulation systme was implemented in real-time in an anechoic chamber and in a listening room fo the purpose of subjective evaluation.The main objective of the tests was to compare subjective localzaiton of virtual soruces at different angles (produced by processing the singals fed to a pair of fixed soruces) with real sources qat he same anlges.It was found tha tsubejctive localizaitonof virtual sources in the frontal plane is accurate or speech and form narrow bands of noise centred around 1 kHz,locallizaiton is less accurate for bands of nosie at 250 Hz and 4 kHz and is generally poor pure tones.however,the performacne of the subjects listening to real sources follows a similar trend.in general,is was ofund that localization is better for virtual sorces placed in a sector of (approximateluy 120 degrees around the frontal dirction.
