EPRI activities on commercial grade dedication of digital computers used in safety systems in nuclear power facilities

1995 has seen the birth of two efforts whose aim is to aid in the installation of digital upgrades in safety systems of nuclear power facilities. These efforts are focused on producing guidelines for nuclear facilities to use in commercially dedicating digital equipment for use in nuclear safety systems. Both of these efforts either have members or are soliciting input from utilities, vendors, regulators, and National Laboratories.
