Several schemes for embedding the hypercube, incomplete hypercube, and cube-connected cycles in star-coupled lightwave networks are proposed. The resulting multihop WDM networks possess the following desirable features: (a) they offer a very high aggregate capacity due to wavelength re-use; (b) they support a large number of users, each requiring only a few transmitters and receivers; and (c) they support simple and efficient routing in a fully decentralized manner. Moreover, the networks are fault-tolerant.
