The intersymbol interference in a direct-sequence spread-spectrum communication system is remarkably suppressed by using a shift-orthogonal finite-length sequence,whose non-periodic autocorrelation function reveals zero sidelobe except at left and right shift ends.This paper proposes the synthesis of a real-valued shift-orthogonal finite-length sequence by convolution and the fast correlation algorithm on the sequence.The sequence with length 2v+1,v=1,2,3,…is synthesized by convolving the v+1 elementary sequences derived from such sequence with length 2.The fast correlation on the synthesized sequence is decomposed into the(v+1)-stage correlations.The sequence is also applicable to an interference-free quasi-synchronous spreadspectrum multiple access system.
