This paper is a general description of CDMA forward link power control algorithm which maximizes the CDMA system capacity.The relationship between the Received Carrier-to-Interference Ratio(CIR)and the capacity is discussed.A new scheme is proposed to design an algorithm for forward link power control with a maximum capacity,and an adaptive algorithm for forward link power control is described.
