摘要

The emission gated amplifier (EGA) is being developed by NRL to investigate the performance of a prebunched beam in a traveling-wave circuit. This concept offers high efficiency and compactness from prebunching and superior bandwidth from the traveling wave circuit. MAGIC, an electromagnetic particle-in-cell code, is being used to investigate the nonlinear beam-wave interaction and other design optimization issues. This paper describes simulation results for efficiency vs. circuit length, including beam current, energy, and bunch width as parameters. Preliminary simulation results are in reasonable agreement with experimental data.
