Multifrequency beamspace Root-MUSIC: an experimental evaluation

The performance of both single frequency and multifrequency Beamspace Root-MUSIC incorporating coherent signal subspace processing is assessed employing data from an experimental array referred to as the Multi-Parameter Adaptive Radar System (MARS). Beamspace Root-MUSIC is a recently developed computationally efficient beamspace implementation of MUSIC. The experiment that yielded the data to which Beamspace Root-MUSIC is applied emulated a low-angle radar tracking scenario with two coherent signals arriving within a beamwidth of each other at broadside. Accurate estimates are obtained with the incorporation of the multipath geometry as a-priori information in the form of the bisector angle.
