An efficient, digitally-based, single-lag autocorrelation-derived, voice-operated transmit (VOX) algorithm

The authors provide theoretical justification for a VOX algorithm which is easily implemented digitally. It is shown that a delay-and-multiply followed by a lowpass filter efficiently implements many of the features of a conventional speech detector.
